This new technology is now available through Greeley Recreation. Many healthcare professionals utilize the InBody scanner to evaluate a person’s overall body composition. With the InBody scan, you can break down a person’s weight by weight, lean mass, and body water. The InBody scan provides a detailed snapshot with more information than simply looking at just your BMI score or weight. By doing an InBody scan regularly, you can analyze a person’s body composition more accurately and identify changes in lean muscle mass, fat mass, and body fat percentage, which can aid in your overall fitness goals.
What is an InBody scan?
The InBody scanner is a non-invasive method that calculates your body composition.* You will place your bare hands and feet on the scanner, allowing electrical waves to move through your body. You will then receive a printout of the results. The scan will take less than a couple of minutes.
*This tool is not recommended for people with pacemakers.

How do I read the results sheet?
Several components are listed on the results sheet once you’ve completed your scan for review. Here’s a breakdown of a couple of those areas:
Muscle-Fat Analysis
The muscle-fat analysis is the lean and fat mass amount in your body. Dry lean mass includes the amount of protein and mineral content in your body, excluding body water weight. If the dry lean mass has increased, this is a sign that there’s been an increase in your muscle mass.
Segmental Lean Analyzes
Segmental lean analyzes your arms, legs, and trunk to detect imbalances. Our Personal Trainers have the ability to support that segment by looking at ways to increase strength where needed.
Basal Metabolic Rate
Basal metabolic rate is the number of calories you utilize at rest.
Body Composition History
Body composition history shows a record of each scan. We recommend you repeat scans every 4-8 weeks to review your progress.
