The Greeley Recreation Center is currently closed due to COVID-19. This includes racquetball courts, indoor pool, rock climbing wall, fitness room, and gymnasiums.

The Greeley Recreation Center is a 105,000 square foot full-service community center that includes a fitness room, racquetball courts, indoor pool, rock climbing wall, two gymnasiums, and rooms to rent for parties, banquets, and special events. Community programming for both adults and youth is also offered.

Greeley Recreation Center Indoor Pool
The Greeley Recreation Center Indoor Pool is currently closed due to COVID-19.
The pool also features a 12-foot diving well with diving boards and an adjoining shallow pool that is perfect for younger kids to learn, swim, and just have fun! Avoid the noise and crowds at other pools and stop on by the Greeley Recreation Center today!
Children under 5 must be accompanied in the pool by a paying adult. Swimsuits Required.

- Participants should bring adequate water and hand sanitizer.
- Anyone with COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms – a fever, cough, or shortness of breath – should not enter or use city facilities including outdoor pools.
- It is highly encouraged for swimmers to be “swim ready” upon arrival at Centennial Pool, showering prior and already dressed in appropriate swim attire.
SWIM LESSON PROGRESSION
Parent-Tot Water entry and exit, cue words, floating on front and back, arm movement and water safety education.
Preschool Getting face wet, blowing bubbles, bobbing, assisted floating on front and back, demonstrate arm and leg movement on front and back and safety skills.
Level 1 Submerge entire body under water, roll front to back and back to front, introduce flutter kick and crawl-stroke arm movements and safety skills.
Level 2 Bob five times going under water, open eyes and pick up submerged object, combined arm and leg movement on front and back, front and back glide and safety skills.
Level 3 Jump into deep water, head-first water entry, perform rotary breathing, tread water for one minute in deep water, front and back crawl for 25 yds., butterfly kick and body motion for 15 yds., elementary backstroke and safety skills.
Level 4 Feet-first surface dive, front and back crawl 25 yds., butterfly, elementary backstroke and breaststroke for 25 yds., swim on side using scissor kick and safety skills.
Level 5 Shallow dive, glide two body lengths and begin any stroke, back and survival float for 2 minutes, front and back crawl for 50 yds., butterfly, elementary backstroke, sidestroke, and breast stroke for 25 yds. and safety skills.
American Red Cross Lifeguard Training
Take a Red Cross certified course that uses hands-on training to prepare becoming a lifeguard. Prerequisite: 300-yard swim, tread water for 2 min. and complete a timed events. Age 15+.
All lifeguard training courses have been cancelled/postponed in light of the COVID-19 situation. Stay tuned for more information!
We have two glass-end racquetball courts along with equipment rentals. Reservations can be made every hour on the hour, up to two weeks in advance by calling 970-350-9400.

The Greeley Recreation Center has a state-of-the-art climbing wall, coined "The Rock" and we offer classes and programs throughout the week.The Rock Climbing Wall is open during facility hours for bouldering and climbing. Top rope and lead climbing available (must be certified to belay). Certifications are good for one year. The climbing wall will close 15 minutes prior to any scheduled class to allow for staff set-up and preparation.

Rock Wall Open Climbing
All climbers are invited to join a staff member for an evening of climbing. Join fellow climbers and be challenged by each other, or just get acquainted with other climbers in the area. This is a good time to get your certification. Age 5+.

All levels of climbers welcomed! Wednesday “hump” day lunch climbs. A rock wall staff member will be present. Introduce yourself to climbing or challenge your current skills, either one makes for a great lunch time fun workout.

Intro to Top Rope Climbing
Newcomers will learn proper Top Rope belay techniques, ATC/Carabineer component uses, commands, knot tying and more. Age 14+

Classes accommodate two climbing levels. Students must be proficient in Level 1 before moving on to Level 2.
Beginner For first time climbers, focus on getting comfortable on the wall. Introduction to tying figure eight knots and learn how to put a harness on. Climbers will be able to participate in a variety of group activities and games. Once successfully passing the beginner class, climbers have the option to move up to the intermediate class.
Intermediate Climbers focus more on technique and safety. Learn to climb different and more challenging routes and perfect their figure eight knot tying, as well as be introduced to Top Rope belaying. Group activities and games will focus more on problem solving and climbing technique. Once successfully passing the intermediate class, climbers have the option to move up to the advanced class.
Advanced Climbers learn to be more self-sufficient. Recognize potential safety issues with themselves and other climbers and how to correct them. Students will participate in a variety of group and solo activities, including Top Rope belay, bouldering challenges, route setting and mock lead climbing. Students who successfully pass the advanced class have the option to take our Top Rope belay certification test if they meet age requirements.

Rocks for Tots

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers® ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated exercises and standing support. This class can be adapted depending on fitness level and abilities. It is suitable for beginning and intermediate skill levels.
Get ready to move through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. This class is suitable for nearly every fitness level.
Satisfy your aqua urge for variety! SilverSplash® offers a lot of fun shallow-water movement to improve agility, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required and a special SilverSneakers® kickboard is used to develop strength, balance and coordination.
The SilverSneakers® Circuit workout offers standing, low-impact choreography alternated with standing upper-body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers® ball. A chair is available for support, This class is suitable for nearly every fitness level and can be adapted depending on the skill of individual participants.
SilverSneakers® Boom Move It®
A higher intensity dance workout class that improves cardio endurance and burns calories. MOVE IT is all about breaking a sweat and having fun. The class focuses on cardio endurance by starting with simple dance moves then building into more complex sequences, bringing you a great cardio workout.
Stability is the newest class designed to help you become stronger and improve balance. The movements taught in class focus on specific exercises to improve strength and power around the ankle, knee and hip joints, while improving reaction time. This class is designed for fall prevention and suitable for nearly every fitness level. It can be adapted depending on the skill of participants. A chair may be used for balance and support. If you require an assisted mobility and/or balance device at any time, you are required to bring it to class for the safety of you and other class participants.
Try a safe and heart-healthy aerobics class to energize your active lifestyle using low-impact movements that focus specifically on building upper-body and core strength plus cardio endurance. This is a higher intensity class than Classic and Circuit.
Get pumped! Our weight room has plenty of machines to keep your workout busy. Come before or after work, or during your lunch hour. Our weight room includes a variety of equipment including free weights, circuit machines, and a wide array of cardio equipment such as treadmills, elliptical machines, steppers, and bikes.

The Greeley Recreation Center offers several classes for your fitness needs. Members gain access to most group fitness classes, while non-members are able to pay the daily admission fee and take a class, too! Be sure to register for our other classes prior to session deadlines. We offer classes suited for all levels.
