Greeley Recreation Logo

The Greeley Recreation Center is a 105,000 square foot full-service community center that includes a fitness room, racquetball courts, indoor pool, rock climbing wall, two gymnasiums, and rooms to rent for parties, banquets, and special events. Community programming for both adults and youth is also offered.

Greeley Recreation Center Indoor Pool

The Greeley Recreation Center Pool will be closed on April 20th, 2019 for a School District 6 swim meet. 

Wanna swim some laps? We got you covered. The Greeley Recreation Center Pool is home to both the Greeley School District Swim Team as well as the Greeley / Loveland Swim Club. At the City's only 8 lane 25-yard competition pool, swimmers of all abilities should feel welcome to swim our calm waters at their own pace.

The pool also features a 12-foot diving well with diving boards and an adjoining shallow pool that is perfect for younger kids to learn, swim, and just have fun! Avoid the noise and crowds at other pools and stop on by the Greeley Recreation Center today!

 

Children under 5 must be accompanied in the pool by a paying adult. Swimsuits Required.

Lifeguard Training

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training

Take a Red Cross certified course that uses hands-on training to prepare becoming a lifeguard. Prerequisite: 300-yard swim, tread water for 2 min. and complete a timed events. Age 15+.

Racquetball Courts

We have two glass-end racquetball courts along with equipment rentals. Reservations can be made every hour on the hour, up to two weeks in advance by calling 970-350-9400.

Rock Climbing Wall

We have a state-of-the-art climbing wall, coined “The Rock” and we offer classes and programs throughout the week.The Rock Climbing Wall is open during facility hours for bouldering and climbing. Top rope and lead climbing available (must be certified to belay). Certifications are good for one year.

Here are just a few of the activities we offer:

 

Youth Climbing

Classes accommodate two climbing levels. Students must be proficient in Level 1 before moving on to Level 2.

Beginner For first time climbers, focus on getting comfortable on the wall. Introduction to tying figure eight knots and learn how to put a harness on. Climbers will be able to participate in a variety of group activities and games. Once successfully passing the beginner class, climbers have the option to move up to the intermediate class.

Intermediate Climbers focus more on technique and safety. Learn to climb different and more challenging routes and perfect their figure eight knot tying, as well as be introduced to Top Rope belaying. Group activities and games will focus more on problem solving and climbing technique. Once successfully passing the intermediate class, climbers have the option to move up to the advanced class.

Advanced Climbers learn to be more self-sufficient. Recognize potential safety issues with themselves and other climbers and how to correct them. Students will participate in a variety of group and solo activities, including Top Rope belay, bouldering challenges, route setting and mock lead climbing. Students who successfully pass the advanced class have the option to take our Top Rope belay certification test if they meet age requirements.

Orientations

A monthly facility orientation will be held for SilverSneakers® participants. The orientation will provide a tour of the facility and an overview of the fitness equipment.

Greeley Active Adult Center - second Monday of each month from 9-10am.

SilverSneakers® Classic

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers® ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated exercises and standing support. This class can be adapted depending on fitness level and abilities. It is suitable for beginning and intermediate skill levels. Max-24.

SilverSneakers® Yoga

Get ready to move through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. This class is suitable for nearly every fitness level. Max-24.

Satisfy your aqua urge for variety! SilverSplash® offers a lot of fun shallow-water movement to improve agility, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required and a special SilverSneakers® kickboard is used to develop strength, balance and coordination. Max-24.

A higher intensity dance workout class that improves cardio endurance and burns calories. MOVE IT is all about breaking a sweat and having fun. The class focuses on cardio endurance by starting with simple dance moves then building into more complex sequences, bringing you a great cardio workout. Max-24.

SilverSneakers® Stability

Stability is the newest class designed to help you become stronger and improve balance. The movements taught in class focus on specific exercises to improve strength and power around the ankle, knee and hip joints, while improving reaction time. This class is designed for fall prevention and suitable for nearly every fitness level. It can be adapted depending on the skill of participants. A chair may be used for balance and support. If you require an assisted mobility and/or balance device at any time, you are required to bring it to class for the safety of you and other class participants. Max-24.

SilverSneakers® CardioFit

Try a safe and heart-healthy aerobics class to energize your active lifestyle using low-impact movements that focus specifically on building upper-body and core strength plus cardio endurance. This is a higher intensity class than Classic and Circuit. Max-24.

Fitness

Get pumped! Our weight room has plenty of machines to keep your workout busy. Come before or after work, or during your lunch hour. Our weight room includes a variety of equipment: Star Trac, Cybex, Precor, weight machines, stair climbers, bikes and treadmills. 

Want to play a little hoops during the day? This is a perfect place to join on pick-up games! We have a full-size gymnasium and an auxiliary gym equipped for basketball, volleyball and pickleball for daily and member’s use.

Dance Studio & Fitness Rooms

There are two dance studios and two fitness rooms for fitness classes, tumbling and martial arts as well as a variety of classical dance classes for youth and adults, Tumbllenium for kids, and other assorted sessions for your enjoyment.
 

Group Fitness Classes

The Greeley Recreation Center offers several classes for your fitness needs. Members gain access to most group fitness classes, while non-members are able to pay the daily admission fee and take a class, too!  Be sure to register for our other classes prior to session deadlines. We offer classes suited for all levels.

Archery Range
The Greeley Archers club was established in 1976 and are members of the National Field Archers Association and Colorado Bow Hunters Association. With two ranges (indoor facility at the Greeley Recreation Center and outdoor at Hwy 85 and 42nd Street) they have everything you need. The club is family oriented and offers a wide range of archery opportunities and classes that include:
