T’ai Chi Sword

Instructor: Fred Jennes

The T’ai Chi Sword is an exercise set developed from the traditional Yang family T’ai Chi form. Performed slowly and gracefully, the T’ai Chi Sword builds strength, flexibility, and balance, and promotes calm and focus in its practitioner. This exercise form is learned and practiced with a wooden T’ai Chi practice sword* — no fencing is taught in this course. Students may borrow a sword to participate in the first class but will be required to purchase their own swords ($20-30) from either the instructor or the internet vendor of their choice. The course will be taught by Sifu Fred Jennes, a licensed practitioner of Oriental medicine and T’ai Chi instructor who has been teaching this exercise form for more than 30 years.

*Personal ownership of a sword is required for this class. Swords can be purchased from the instructor or any online vendor.
