Group Fitness

We offer classes in various formats: Aqua Fitness, Cardio, Dance, Mind-Body, SilverSneakers®, and Strength & Conditioning. Our Greeley Recreation Center, Family FunPlex, and Active Adult Center offer classes.

Classes are free to Greeley Recreation members, or you can pay the daily admission fee and drop into a class!

Group Fitness Schedule

Class Policies

Class sizes are limited so please keep the following policies in mind:

  • Entrance is first-come, first-serve.
  • Please respect instructors by arriving to class on time. Entrance will not be permitted five minutes after the start of class.
  • Proper athletic clothing and footwear are required (Yoga classes excluded).
  • Classes are available for ages 12 years and older.

Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation (AIR)

People of all abilities are welcome to attend drop-in fitness classes. For additional support, please fill out an Accommodation Request at least seven days prior to class. This will allow AIR to assess the best way to support your needs. We ask that a support person attend class along with any groups greater than two.

Youth Athletic Conditioning

Instructor: Brandon Elbell

Looking to improve explosive power and strength? Our Youth Athletic Conditioning course will reinforce the fundamentals of athletic conditioning. Training will be facilitated by Brandon, who is a certified personal trainer. Age: 10-15 years old. Min-5, Max-12.

Survival of the HIITest Family FunPlex

Instructor: Austin Persons

Ready to HIIT the gym? High-intensity interval training puts your cardio and strength to the test! You’ll progress through a series of circuit-style exercises where you may encounter mountain climbers, swing some kettlebells, or battle the ropes. Challenge yourself by enrolling in Survival of the HIITest at the Family FunPlex or online. Max-12.

T’ai Chi

Instructor: Fred Jennes

T’ai Chi is an ancient Chinese exercise Monks developed with slow and gentle movements. Fred Jennes will teach these classes; he has studied T’ai Chi for over 40 years and is a qualified instructor.

Beginning T’ai Chi

Thursdays, January 18 – April 25 | 10 a.m.

The aim of this course is to enable you to build good health and improve mental focus. Prior experience is not required. Min-8, Max-20.

Continuing T’ai Chi

Wednesdays, January 17 – April 24 | 6-7 p.m.

This class is a continuation of last term’s course and is only open to students who have taken the Beginning T’ai Chi class or receive special permission from the instructor to enroll. Students will learn the remainder of the Yang family short T’ai Chi form. Min-8, Max-20.

Advanced T’ai Chi

Tuesdays, January 16 – April 23 | 10-11 a.m.

This class is for students who have previously studied T’ai Chi with Fred Jennes. To attend, you must have learned the 64 postures taught in the Beginning T’ai Chi class or receive permission from the instructor. In addition to the solo T’ai Chi form, students will receive instruction in the T’ai Chi ruler and sword forms and advanced qigong exercises. Min-8, Max-20.

Jazzercise

Greeley Recreation offers jazzercise classes at the Greeley Recreation Center and Active Adult Center. You must be a jazzercise member to attend classes at these two locations.

Jazzercise classes incorporate dance cardio with strength training to sculpt and tone your muscles in the ultimate full-body workout. Whether you’re looking for physical results or a way to relieve stress and feel your best, our instructors will guide you every step of the way in your wellness journey.

Line Dancing

Instructor: Monica

This Line Dancing course introduces the participant to basic dance pattern structures, technique, vocabulary, and spatial awareness. During the class, we will combine warm-up exercises, dance routines, and stretching. Music will include Western classics, country, rock, and jazz. Dance routines are suitable for all abilities. Western wear is not required but welcome. Age 12+. Min-4, Max-10.
