May 30, 2018 – (Greeley, CO) – Mountain View Skating Club and the Greeley Ice Haus will host the 2018 Front Range Invitational Figure Skating Competition this Saturday, June 2 from 8am to 3pm presenting the uniqueness of figure skating competitions. Skaters from all over Colorado will demonstrate their figure skating abilities in levels from basic to advanced and showcase their entertaining moves on the ice. The Front Range Invitational Figure Skating competition is an annual event, open to the public, and has grown over the years from 23 skaters in 2014 to hosting over 71 skaters this year.

Greeley’s local figure skating club, Mountain View Skating Club (MVSC), will have 12 skaters representing Greeley in this year’s competition. Many of which started out in the Greeley Ice Haus Learn to Skate program and have moved on to compete throughout the state and some even nationwide. Skaters participating will not only be from Greeley, but also Arvada, Ault, Boulder, Breckenridge, Broomfield, Colorado Springs, Commerce City, Conifer, Denver, Erie, Fort Collins, Lakewood, Laporte, Littleton, Louisville, Loveland, Niwot, Severance, Wiggins and Windsor. The Front Range Invitational is a USFSA (United States Figure Skating Association) Basic Skills Competition. “Figure skaters do not have to belong to a figure skating club to participate, local Basic Skills Learn to Skate participants can compete as well,” said Corbin Fitzgibbons, Recreation Coordinator. “Figure skaters will be warming up and practicing their routines on Friday, June 1, getting ready for the competition. It really is a highlight to see so many of our figure skaters compete,” said Fitzgibbons. The Greeley Ice Haus is located at 900 8th Avenue in Historic downtown Greeley.
