Fun in the Sun (FITS)

Looking for something fun for the kids to do over this summer? We have plenty of options in our summer camp program. Camps are hosted each year through summer break.

The Fun in the Sun Program is designed to engage and activate your child in recreational and educational programming, in a safe and fun environment during the summer months. The FITS program is offered at two sites: the Rodarte Community Center and Anna Gimmestad Park. We provide a 9-week themed program that includes a broad range of creative arts, sports/recreational activities, swimming, camouflage learning, field trips, a fashion show, a talent show, and an end-of-the-summer celebration! We collaborate with the High Plains Library District and Weld County Food Bank, which provides participants with a nutritious breakfast and lunch daily. Register quickly, our program fills up fast! Age 5-15.

This program is project-based; participants work closely together in hands-on problem-solving. Special field trips are planned related to the area of focus. Participants will also have the opportunity to participate in LEGO Mindstorm Robotics and 3D printing. This is an intro to basic programming and problem-solving strategies.

The STEM Summer Scholars Program is a 6-week program that meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m. Until noon. It is free to attend. The 2021 session begins on May 24 and ends on July 1.
