Climbing Wall Open Daily!

Located next to the racquetball courts, we have the only public climbing wall in town!
The Eldorado wall from Louisville, CO is 20′ high and offers a variety of bouldering obstacles, unique features such as a challenging overhang, and is fully equipped with 2 auto belays and 10 top rope stations.
Access to the climbing wall is free to Greeley Recreation members and guests who pay the daily admission fee.
We offer free climbing shoe rentals at the Guest Service Desk.

Hours of Operation

Bouldering is allowed during all facility hours: Monday-Friday 5 a.m. – 10 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. – 7 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.

  • Guests must check out the key fob from the Guest Service Desk
  • Bouldering is allowed to the white line


Top Rope
is allowed during wall staffed hours: Monday and Wednesday 4-8 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

  • Each climber must pass a belay certification to climb unsupervised
  • All climbers must have an active waiver on file, and must be 18 years of age or older to complete the waiver without a parent’s signature
  • Climbers are allowed to bring their own shoes and harness; assisted-braking belay devices will be supplied.

Age Requirements

  • Youth ages 5-15 may use the wall when accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older.
  • Guests 16+ may use the wall unsupervised.

She Rocks

Anyone who identifies as a female is welcome to join us! This is a great opportunity to build community with other female climbers in sessions led by our female staff. Whether you are a new or seasoned climber, these sessions welcome all skill levels. Age (16+). Min-1, Max-10.

Youth Climbing Classes:

Mini Monkeys – Level 1 (ages 5-9):

New climbers will learn how to top rope safely, boulder by themselves, and use the auto belays while understanding the rules of the rock wall area. They will learn how to put on their shoes and harnesses by themselves. Climbers will learn patience while waiting to climb, to encourage others while watching, to be confident, and to work through their fears. Min-4, Max-8.

Tuesdays 4-5 p.m. | Thursdays 4-5 p.m.

  • Session III March 7 – April 6 (no classes the week of March 13-17)
  • Session IV April 11 – May 4

Fee: $40 member, $45 non-member

 

Mini Monkeys – Level 2 (ages 5-9):

From ages 5-9 years old. This class is for the graduates of Mini Monkeys 1. Climbers will learn how to top rope safely, boulder by themselves, and use the auto belays while understanding the rules of the rock wall area. They will learn how to top rope and work on challenge routes. Min-4, Max-8.

Tuesdays 5-6 p.m.

  • Session III March 7 – April 6 (no classes the week of March 13-17)
  • Session IV April 11 – May 4

Fee: $40 member, $45 non-member

Billy Goats – Level 1 (age 10-15):

Climbers will learn how to climb the bouldering wall, auto belays, and rock wall themselves. They will learn the climbing commands, the figure-8 follow-through knot, the basics of belaying, and the names of holds. Climbers will learn to be focused on skills and strength to use only one route to get to the top; they will also learn the names of climbing moves/techniques: flagging, smearing, mantling, side pulls, matching, and more. Min-4, Max-8.

Tuesdays 6-7 p.m. | Thursdays 5-6 p.m.

  • Session III March 7 – April 6 (no classes the week of March 13-17)
  • Session IV April 11 – May 4

Fee: $40 member, $45 non-member

 

Billy Goats – Level 2 (age 10-15):

This class is for the graduates of Billy Goats 1 who have mastered the techniques and strength instructed and trained in the previous course and want to take their climbing to the next level. Half of the class will include individual training, projecting routes, and learning advanced techniques and skills. The other half of the class will include learning how to belay each other on top rope, and by the end of the class, becoming belay certified at the City of Greeley Climbing Wall. Min-4, Max-8.
