Climbing Wall Open Daily!

Located next to the racquetball courts on the second floor at the Greeley Recreation Center, we have the only public climbing wall in town!
The Eldorado wall from Louisville, CO is 20′ high and offers a variety of bouldering obstacles, unique features such as a challenging overhang, and is fully equipped with 2 auto belays and 10 top rope stations.

Access to the climbing wall is free to Greeley Recreation members and guests who pay the daily admission fee.

We offer free climbing shoe rentals at the Guest Service Desk.

Hours of Operation

Bouldering is allowed during all facility hours: Monday-Friday 5 a.m. – 10 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. – 7 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.

  • Guests must check out the key fob from the Guest Service Desk
  • Bouldering is allowed to the white line


Top Rope
is allowed during wall staffed hours: Mondays and Wednesdays, 4-8 p.m. Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

  • Each climber must pass a belay certification to climb unsupervised
  • All climbers must have an active waiver on file, and must be 18 years of age or older to complete the waiver without a parent’s signature
  • Climbers are allowed to bring their own shoes and harness; assisted-braking belay devices will be supplied.

She Rocks

Anyone who identifies as a female is welcome to join us! This is a great opportunity to build community with other female climbers in sessions led by our female staff. Whether you are a new or seasoned climber, these sessions welcome all skill levels.

You will learn all there is about fitness, bouldering, ATC/Carabiner component uses, commands, knot-building, and more. Creating an inclusive and safe spaces to climb, share, and connect with other women in the climbing community. Everyone must sign a waiver. Age 16+. Min-1, Max-10.

Adult Climbing Classes

This two-part class will cover safety, climbing, and belay techniques for beginner adult climbers. It’s a fun and pressure-free introduction to climbing. The first class focuses on gym safety, communication, belay, foot techniques, climbing fundamentals, and helpful tips, while the second focuses on climbing styles and rating systems. Age 16+.

Youth Climbing Classes

Mini Monkeys (Ages 5-9)

Level One: New climbers will learn how to top rope safely, boulder by themselves, and use the auto belays while understanding the rules of the Climbing Wall area. They will learn how to put on their shoes and harnesses by themselves. Climbers will learn patience while waiting to climb, to encourage others while watching, to be confident and to work through their fears.

Level Two: This class is for the graduates of Mini Monkeys 1. Climbers will learn how to top rope safely, boulder by themselves, and use the auto belays while understanding the rules of the rock wall area. They will learn how to top rope and work on challenge routes.

Billy Goats (Ages 10-15)

Level One: Climbers will learn how to climb the bouldering wall, auto belays and rock wall themselves. They will learn the climbing commands, the figure-8 follow through knot, basics of belaying and names of holds. Climbers will learn to be focused on skills and strength to use only one route to get to the top, they will also learn names of climbing moves/techniques: flagging, smearing, mantling, side pulls, matching and more.

Level Two: This class is for the graduates of Billy Goats 1 who have mastered the techniques and strengths instructed and trained in the previous course and want to take their climbing to the next level. Half of this class will include individual training and projecting routes and learning more advanced techniques and skills specific to their projects, such as drop knees, lock offs, dynos, knee bars, and edging. The other half of the class will include learning how to belay each other on top rope and by the end of class becoming belay certified at the City of Greeley Climbing Wall.

We Rock (Parent & Child)

This program is geared toward youth and adults climbing and learning together, focusing on teamwork and cooperation, and being a great environment to challenge yourself and try new things. Classes are tailored to different skill levels, encouraging communication and support between parents and their children. Age: 5+.
