Class Descriptions
Beginning Ballet & Tap
The beginning levels introduce ballet and tap basics using methods designed for young imaginative minds and bodies. Students are given the opportunity to move, stretch, and improve self-confidence while being introduced to basic ballet concepts, body alignment, posture, and locomotor skills, as well as develop self-expression through creative movement. These levels introduce the basic concepts of both ballet and tap, including beginning steps, terminology, musicality, focus, flexibility, and expression. These classes promote group interaction, creativity, body awareness, and dance etiquette. Open to boys and girls ages 3- 6, half of every class period is spent on ballet and half tap. Ballet shoes, tap shoes, tights, and dress code leotard or boys’ dress code shirt are required. Most students spend an entire academic year at one level before progressing to the next
