Fall Leagues 2024
City of Greeley Recreation is offering an adult pickleball with 2 leagues 4 divisions.
Each team will be guaranteed 6 games, with a 1 game guarantee playoff game.

Players are only allowed to play on one team per Division.
All teams/players must provide their own paddles and warm-up balls.
All Leagues will be played as Open Doubles.
Teams may be created with same or mixed genders. Team MUST register for the division of the highest rated player.
Skill-rating will be based on self-rated skill levels of players.

16 & Over 1.0-2.5 Level 2 Recreational/Beginner (Max-10)

- Game Times: 6 p.m., 7 p.m., 8 p.m., and 9 p.m.

League Play
The regular season is 6 weeks. League play is Doubles. Each match consists of 3 sets to 11 points played within a time limit of 55 minutes of play. There will be a 5-minute grace period however the clock will start at the official match time. USA Pickleball Association rulebook governs all pickleball play unless otherwise stated.
All league play is self-officiated.
There will be a court supervisor on site. It is essential that league rules be followed during game play. If a discrepancy occurs, please take the following steps:
- Check the rule book: USPickleball.org
- Ask other players who are playing on a court next to you to help clarify rules.
- Check in with the onsite supervisor
Teams
Teams consist of 2 players maximum. Roster can include 1 substitute for a maximum of 3 rostered players.
Teams MUST register for the division of the highest rated player. Skill rating will be based on self-rated skill levels of players.
Teams may be moved based on their rating.
Adult Pickleball Tournament 2024
September 21 | 9 a.m.
City of Greeley Recreation is hosting the second annual Adult Pickleball Tournament with 2 division options.
Each team will be guaranteed 2 games, with a double elimination type bracket to obtain the game guarantee.
The non-sanctioned tournament will be played as Open Doubles.
Teams can be created with same or mixed genders. Teams MUST register for the tournament of the highest rated player. Skill rating will be based on self-rated skill levels of players. See self-rating information on USAPickleball.org.
Min-8 per division, Max-20 per division
All teams/players must provide their own paddles and warm-up balls.

Ratings
3.0 Skill Rating:
- Forehand: Ability to hit a medium paced shot. Lacks directional intent and consistency.
- Backhand: Avoids using a backhand. Lacks directional intent and consistency.
- Serve/Return: Able to hit a medium paced shot. Lacks depth, direction, and consistency.
- Dink: Not able to consistently sustain a dink rally. Not yet developed the ability to control this shot.
- 3rd Shot: Generally, hits a medium paced ball with little direction.
- Volley: Able to hit a medium paced shot. Lacks direction/inconsistent.
- Strategy: Understands fundamentals. Is learning proper court positioning. Knows the fundamental rules and can keep score and is now playing tournaments.
3.5 Skill Rating:
- Forehand: Improved stroke development with moderate level of shot control.
- Backhand: Learning stroke form and starting to develop consistency but will avoid if possible.
- Serve/Return: Consistently gets serve/return in play with limited ability to control depth.
- Dink: Increased consistency, with limited ability to control height/depth. Sustains medium length rallies. Starting to understand variations of pace.
- 3rd Shot: Developing the drop shot in a way to get to the net.
- Volley: Is able to volley medium paced shots thereby developing control.
- Strategy: Moves quickly towards the non-volley zone (NVZ) when opportunity is there. Acknowledges difference between hard game and soft game and is starting to vary own game during recreation and tournament play. Can sustain short rallies. Is learning proper court positioning. Basic knowledge of stacking and understands situations where it can be effective.
Please make sure you sign up for the correct division to avoid being disqualified from the tournament and loss of entry fee.
