Pawnee Buttes

Wednesday, June 7 | 6:45 a.m.
Registration Deadline: May 24

Pawnee Buttes is located about 60 miles east of Ault and just east of Grover. On this trail, you will take in views of free-standing sandstone remnants and unique dryland wildflowers. Observe firsthand the landscape that was once used as a reference point for plains tribesmen. We will also make a stop at the ghost town of Keota on the way. This hike is around 4 miles round trip. We will not be stopping for lunch; participants will need to bring a bagged lunch with them. We will stop for ice cream on the way home at each participant’s own expense. Min-11, Max-13.

Level of Difficulty: Easy.

Location: Pawnee National Grassland

Trap Park

Wednesday, July 5 | 7:15 a.m.
Registration Deadline: June 21

You will venture through a cool fir forest to a sun-filled valley with abundant water and wildflowers surrounded by the Neota wilderness. You will see open meadows and view both the Iron and Flattop Mountains, with Trap Creek whispering in the background. This hike will be about 6 miles round trip. We will not be stopping for lunch; participants will need to bring a bagged lunch with them. We will stop for ice cream on the way home at each participant’s own expense. Min-11, Max-13.

Level of Difficulty: Moderate Challenging

Colorado State Forest State Park: Moose Visitor Center

Wednesday, August 9 | 7 a.m.
Registration Deadline: July 26

This trail starts at the Moose Visitor Center. It parallels the middle fork of the Michigan River and is a frequent moose habitat. View of the Nokhu Crags will be seen from the trail and the drive up. We will not be stopping for lunch; participants will need to bring a bagged lunch with them. We will stop for ice cream on the way home at each participant’s own expense. Min-11, Max-13.

Notice about Refunds

Refunds for activities and programs must be requested a minimum of fourteen (14) days prior to their start date to receive a full refund or account credit. A $5 administration fee will be charged if a refund is requested. The administration fee is waived if an account credit is issued. An account credit may be issued if a refund is requested within fourteen (14) days of the activity or program start date.

No refunds or credits would be issued if the refund request is submitted after the first session of an activity or program unless specific circumstances, stated in writing, warrant further consideration.
