Rooney Trail Loop Hike

Difficulty: Easy

The lower reaches of Rooney Valley are incredibly scenic, with beautiful, narrow singletrack rolling along the flanks of the mountain. Be sure to savor the views from the top of Green Mountain, but the views of downtown will continue as you work your way along the ridge and descend the southern end of the mountain. This is a 3.4 mile hike with 413 feet of elevation gain. Please bring a bagged lunch; we will not be stopping for lunch elsewhere.

Shoshone and Besant Point Loop Hike

Difficulty: Easy

The Shoshone Trail at Pinewood Reservoir takes you along a cove that is popular for fishing. Turkeys and deer are common in the woods near the lake, so keep your eye out. This is a 2.6-mile hike with 400 feet of elevation gain. Please bring a bagged lunch; we will not be stopping for lunch elsewhere.

Located just outside Estes in Hermit Park Open Space, this moderately challenging hike offers gorgeous views and fascinating wildlife.

Refunds for activities and programs must be requested a minimum of fourteen (14) days before their start date to receive a full refund or account credit. A $5 administration fee will be charged if a refund is requested. The administration fee is waived if an account credit is issued. An account credit may be issued if a refund is requested within fourteen (14) days of the activity or program start date.

No refunds or credits will be issued if the refund request is submitted after the first session of an activity or program unless specific circumstances, stated in writing, warrant further consideration.
