About the Coaches

Jacob Sanchez, the Rodarte Boxing Club head coach, has over 23 years of experience in the boxing profession. He began his boxing career at age 5 and became a participant in the Rodarte Boxing Program when he was 12. In 2000, Sanchez started as the assistant coach with Rodarte after former coach Santos Casares retired. He then explored other coaching opportunities before returning to the club at Rodarte three years ago.

The Rodarte Boxing Club assistant coach, Enrique Garcia, also boxed as a participant in the program. He has accompanied Sanchez at the helm for the last three years, coaching youth and adults interested in the sport, accompanied by Eduardo Contreras as an assistant during the previous two years.

The Rodarte Community Center Boxing Program offers recreational and competitive instruction. Seventeen recreational boxers, four competitive fighters, and one adult are actively involved in the program. For details, call 970-350-9430 or visit
