Greeley Recreation created an interactive fitness challenge for the month of April that will help you get on track for a healthy lifestyle. Whether you are a fitness guru or interested in trying something new to keep you motivated, Ready Player tONE is the challenge for you!
Bring Your Questions. We Have Answers
Information sessions will explain the components of the challenge, introduce the Strava fitness tracker, review the body composition (InBody) scan, and provide a chance to ask questions. Join us during either of two free sessions:
- Session I: March 14 | 5-5:30 p.m. at the Greeley Recreation Center, 651 10th Ave, Room 103
- Session II: March 19 | 6-6:30 p.m. at the Family FunPlex, 1501 65th Ave, Senior Room
Spring into Shape Challenge
This spring into shape fitness challenge – Ready Player tONE – is designed to inspire friendly competition based on participation and performance.
- Participation will be measured using the Strava fitness tracker app which can be downloaded to a mobile device. Strava will display an up-to-date leaderboard based on exercise minutes logged.
- Performance will be based on body composition. You will need to complete an InBody scan at the beginning and end of the challenge. Improvement will be calculated by adding together lean muscle gain (lbs.), body fat loss (lbs.), and improvement in body fat percentage (if applicable).
Kickoff Event
April 2 | 6-6:30 p.m. Family FunPlex Community Room B
During the kickoff event, there will be three stations to help you prepare for the challenge: a tech station, an InBody station, and squat assessment station.
- Tech station will provide support on how to download the Strava fitness app, join the challenge, and sync compatible wearables.
- InBody station will be available to complete your first InBody scan.
- The overhead squat station allows a personal trainer to analyze your movement pattern and prescribe exercises based on these observations.
Group Workouts
Group fitness classes are available at no extra charge and will provide an opportunity for challenge participants to sweat together. These workouts are optional, but attendance is highly encouraged.
- Group Workouts in the FunPlex FitZone
Mondays, April 3-24 | 8:15-9 a.m. - Group workouts in the Greeley Recreation Center Fitness Studio
Thursdays, April 6-27 | 5:15-6 p.m.
Health Hacks
The fitness team wants this to be a successful fitness challenge for all participants. Health hacks are intended to support one’s journey toward creating healthier habits. For example, week one walks you through movement. During week two, we’ll spill the beans on nutrition. Week three is all about sleep. And week four is about the thing that may keep you from sleeping, technology. Learn how to join the Greeley Recreation GroupMe chat to view each health hack.
