Congratulations to Jonah Fanning for winning the PDC Energy Sports Champion of the Month!

Jonah Fanning is an 8th grade middle schooler at Frontier Academy. Fanning began his soccer career at the age of 4, competing in Greeley’s Culture, Parks and Recreation Department (CPRD) Mighty Mites program. He continued to play recreational soccer with the City of Greeley until he was 13 years old in the Young America program. He now gives back to the community and serves as a soccer official for CPRD. Additionally, he plans to officiate for the upcoming Dinky Dunker and Young America Basketball seasons.

Fanning also enjoys playing basketball and running track. One of his favorite sports figures is Stephan Curry, an American professional basketball player with the Golden State Warriors. “I really like the way he plays,” said Fanning.

Fanning who has been coached by his dad, Shane Fanning, in both soccer and basketball learned how important teamwork was from the beginning. “The hardest thing to remember when playing any sport” he said, “is to not be biased towards the other team.”

Fanning is the eldest son in a family of seven, with four other brothers at home. His mom, Amy Fanning, is a teacher at Frontier Academy.

Congratulations Jonah and thanks for all your help this season!
