Congratulations to the second annual All-Star Bowl flag football tournament winners! The Kansas City Chiefs (U10 team) lead by Coach Vince Mena and the Greeley Elite (U12 team) coached by Gary Fuentes were crowned champions for their age divisions on Sunday, June 9 at Monfort Park in Greeley.

The second annual All-Star Flag Football Tournament took place at the park June 7-9. Six U10 teams and eight U12 teams competed in the event. Each team played two pool play games to determine seeding for the single elimination bracket. The top 4 teams from each age bracket competed in a semifinal, then final championship game, to be crowned the winner in their age division.

The fields were packed over the weekend, and the competition was fierce. “All teams performed their best, and it was a great weekend of competition,” said Jaxon Samsel, youth sports coordinator in charge of Greeley Recreation’s flag football program. “This annual tournament started last year to celebrate the season’s end. It’s open to all teams in the Northern Colorado region, not just Greeley Recreation flag football league participants. We hope to have more teams signed up next year as we continue to grow the event.”
